Starting on May 1, 2025, European Union (EU) design law will be reformed in many important aspects. As part of an effort to harmonize the EU design and national member design laws, there will be procedural and substantive changes. This webinar will highlight the key changes and explain how the reformed EU design law will compare to US and UK law.

The discussion will include:

  • Changes to filing details, eligible subject matter, and representation requirements
  • Explanation of the state of the EU law on repair and spare parts
  • A roadmap for implementation of the changes, including what will happen in the near future
  • Comparison of the reformed EU law with current US and UK design practices
