WASHINGTON, DC—Working Mother magazine and Flex-Time Lawyers today recognized Finnegan on their 2014 list of “50 Best Law Firms for Women”. This is the third consecutive year Finnegan has been recognized for its family-friendly policies, and business and career development initiatives that help retain women attorneys and advance them into the leadership pipeline. Finnegan was listed 13th in the category of “Leadership, Compensation, and Advancement of Women,” and 14th in “Female Leadership of Departments & Committees.” Finnegan attorney Mareesa Frederick was also recognized as a Working Mother of the Year for balancing a demanding legal career while still taking on leadership roles in volunteer organizations that focus on issues of deep importance to her—education, mentoring, and supporting diversity.
“Finnegan is pleased to receive this recognition of the firm’s commitment to the success of our women lawyers,” said Finnegan managing partner James B. Monroe. “The firm is dedicated to providing an environment where our lawyers can excel professionally, and maintain a work-life balance. We actively recruit, mentor, and provide educational programs for women, who are an integral part of the firm’s leadership and success.” Working Mother and Flex-Time Lawyers founded the 50 Best Law Firms for Women initiative in 2007 to celebrate the law firms that are most successful in retaining and promoting women lawyers. The goal is also to give law firms the benchmarking tools to enable them to improve the status of women in their firms in the future.
