The Diversity & Flexibility Alliance

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
November 6, 2024

WASHINGTON, DC—The Diversity & Flexibility Alliance recently released its 2024 New Partner Report, recognizing Finnegan as one of the firms that is “Tipping the Scales” toward gender parity. The New Partner Report is a yearly compilation of data from the largest and top-grossing firms in the U.S., examining the gender breakdown of attorneys promoted to partnership. The data is based upon publicly available firm announcements, as well as other self-reported sources on new partner classes. The firms recognized in this year’s New Partner Report have 50% or more women in their 2024 new partner class. Finnegan is proud to be recognized for its continued efforts toward achieving gender parity in the legal industry, specifically in the practice of intellectual property law.

As part of Finnegan’s commitment to cultivating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work, the firm actively participates in various internal initiatives targeting retention, professional and business development, and promotion of women attorneys, such as Finnegan FORWARD. Finnegan FORWARD (Focused on Raising Women’s Advancement, Representation, and Development) is Finnegan’s women’s business initiative, which focuses on key initiatives to address issues impacting female attorneys in intellectual property. Initiatives include enhancing marketing and recruiting efforts to retain high-performing women; identifying business development opportunities for our female attorneys; offering strategies to overcome the challenges of developing a book of business; providing education and training for our women attorneys; and supporting their leadership opportunities.
