On September 22, 2015 a California district court ruled in favor of Finnegan client Asetek, finding that CMI USA, Inc. infringed two of Asetek's patents that use liquid to cool computer components. The jury found that every accused CMI product had directly infringed Asetek's patents and awarded Asetek 14.5% royalty rate and damages. CMI filed a renewed motion for judgment as a matter of law (JMOL) and a motion for a new trial, but both were denied. Asetek filed a motion for a permanent injunction, supplemental damages, enhanced damages, and pre- and post-judgment interest and all motions were granted.
