On September 18, 2017, former Lead Administrative Patent Judge, Trenton Ward, joined Finnegan's Atlanta office. His practice will focus on patent litigation.
In 2012, Ward was appointed lead administrative patent judge for the newly formed Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). During his tenure, Ward adjudicated more than 250 America Invents Act (AIA) trial proceedings. Jason Stach, leader of Finnegan’s PTAB trial practice, said, "[Trenton's] experience and insight into how to succeed at the PTAB will be an invaluable asset to the firm."
