Finnegan is pleased to announce that partner Ming-Tao Yang will serve as managing partner of the firm's Palo Alto office.
Ming's practice focuses on litigating patent and trade secret disputes, counseling clients on licensing and portfolio management matters, and advising on inter partes reviews (IPRs), opinions of counsel, and IP strategies. His technical expertise encompasses artificial intelligence (AI), wireless communications, semiconductors and integrated circuits (ICs), software, storage, and network technologies. Ming has also litigated and negotiated matters involving standard-essential patents (SEPs), FRAND (fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory) royalties, and IP indemnity claims. Ming draws on 20 years of counseling, negotiation, and litigation experience to advise clients in Asia and the United States, and he has been recognized by Managing Intellectual Property as an IP Star in California.
The National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) of Taiwan has bestowed Ming with a Distinguished Alumnus Award and its 60-IN-60 Award, which recognizes top 60 distinguished leaders in a span of 60 years. He also received a Distinguished Alumnus Award from NCTU’s Department of Mechanical Engineering.
