Intellectual Asset Management (IAM)
IAM reported on the prolonged vacancies at the U.S. International Trade Commission, examining why several commissioner seats remained unfilled for more than a year.
Finnegan partner and co-lead of the firm’s ITC litigation practice, Mareesa Frederick, told IAM, “Because we just had a change in administration, the priority tends to be filling the more high-level government positions rather than the ITC, which is low-key and often termed a little-known agency.”
Mareesa further noted, “The number of political appointments that needed to be filled has likely prevented the White House from focusing on filling the commissioner seats.”
