On May 30, 2017, a district court ruled in favor of Finnegan client Sprint, awarding the company over $6 million in prejudgment interest after finding that Time Warner Cable had infringed each of the asserted claims of five Sprint patents. Additionally, the jury found that none of the claims were invalid, Sprint had proved reasonable royalty damages in the amount of $139.8 million, and that the infringement was willful.
