Finnegan Releases the Advanced Technology Patent Report 2015 for the Electrical and Computer Technology Fields

April 15, 2015

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 15, 2015

WASHINGTON, DC—Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP, one of the world’s largest intellectual property law firms, is pleased to announce the release of the Advanced Technology Patent Report 2015, a complimentary eBook that examines significant developments in U.S. patent law and practice for the electrical and computer technology fields. The report is designed for patent practitioners, in-house counsel, and business managers who are involved in patent issues and disputes for their companies.

“The past few years have proven eventful for patent stakeholders in the United States, from implementation of the post-grant review proceedings created by the America Invents Act (AIA) to recent Supreme Court decisions on issues such as patent-eligible subject matter and divided infringement,” stated Finnegan partner C. Gregory Gramenopoulos, who leads the firm’s electrical and computer technology practice and is the report’s co-editor-in-chief. “We developed this report as a comprehensive resource to provide insight into current issues and legal developments, and help practitioners navigate the patent arena in the context of electrical and computer technologies.”

Downloadable from Finnegan’s website, the Advanced Technology Patent Report 2015 covers the following topics:

  • Trends in patent filings and issuance in the electrical and computer technology classes
  • Reviews of U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) pilot programs implemented for faster and improved examination of U.S. patent applications
  • Key trends and developments in post-grant review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB)
  • Analyses of significant court decisions impacting patent litigation
  • Decisions addressing standard-essential patents (SEPs) and FRAND-committed patents
  • Updates on patent practice before the International Trade Commission (ITC)

In addition to Mr. Gramenopoulos, the Advanced Technology Patent Report 2015 was produced by an editorial team of Finnegan attorneys, including C. Brandon Rash, co-editor-in-chief and a section editor, and section editors Anita Bhushan, Elliot C. Cook, and Aidan C. Skoyles. Significant contributions were also made by other Finnegan attorneys, who provided research and other support for preparing the report.
