WASHINGTON, DC—At the 2015 Wiley A. Branton Awards Luncheon, the Washington Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs honored Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP with the Outstanding Achievement Award. The Committee recognizes law firms and individuals who are committed to pro bono service and equal justice. Finnegan received the award for its involvement in preparing the report “Protecting Civil Rights in the DC Region: A Comparative Assessment of State and Local Human Rights Laws,” which assesses human rights protections in the Washington, DC area, and serves as a tool for local human rights agencies to develop stronger and more effective civil rights laws and procedures.
“Finnegan is honored to receive the Wiley A. Branton Outstanding Achievement Award,” said Paul W. Browning, chair of Finnegan’s Pro Bono Committee. “An important part of our firm’s culture is helping those in need by giving back to the community through pro bono work.”

The Washington Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs is a nonprofit organization that was established in 1968 to provide pro bono legal services to address issues of civil rights violations and poverty in the Washington, DC area.
