WASHINGTON, DC - For the second consecutive year, Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP, received the Gold Standard Certification from The Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF), a designation for firms that have integrated women in top leadership positions and compensated them well. The WILEF Gold Standard Certification initiative, which was launched in April of last year, invites law firms with 100 or more attorneys to apply for the certification. Fifty firms qualified for the award this year. Finnegan scored particularly well in the category of firm leadership. The firm is led by Managing Partner Barbara Clarke McCurdy, and in 2011, more than half of the firm’s practice groups were led by women. WILEF’s initiative is unique in its mission to certify, publicly recognize, and broadly publicize law firms that have integrated women into the highest leadership positions.
With more than 375 intellectual property lawyers, Finnegan is one of the largest IP law firms in the world. From offices in Washington, DC; Atlanta, Georgia; Cambridge, Massachusetts; Palo Alto, California; Reston, Virginia; Brussels, Belgium; Shanghai, China; Taipei, Taiwan; and Tokyo, Japan, the firm practices all aspects of patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret law, including counseling, prosecution, licensing, and litigation. Finnegan also represents clients on IP issues related to international trade, portfolio management, the Internet, e-commerce, government contracts, antitrust, and unfair competition.
