The PTAB Bar Association released its inaugural Top 50 Women in PTAB Trials list, recognizing Finnegan partner Erika Arner as a leading female practitioner at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). The list honors female practitioners currently in private practice or at companies who have appeared in the highest number of PTAB trial proceedings since 2012.
Erika leads Finnegan’s electrical and computer technology practice group and is nationally recognized as a leader in trial practice before the PTAB. She has represented patent owners and petitioners in more than 100 PTAB trials, most as lead counsel. She also represents clients before the Federal Circuit, where she has argued and won appeals from the PTAB and district courts in technologies ranging from graphical user interfaces to complex telecommunications systems to large scale scent diffusion devices.
The Top 50 Women in PTAB Trials list is produced by the PTAB Bar Association’s Women’s Committee, based on information provided by DocketAlarm. The Women’s Committee develops initiatives to encourage more women to become involved in both PTAB practice and in the Association, including in leadership positions. The committee also supports the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s women’s initiatives, including its Network of Executive Women.
