Finnegan Managing Partner Anand Sharma Receives SABA-DC Trailblazer Award

On October 19, 2019, Finnegan’s managing partner, Anand Sharma, was presented with the Private Sector Trailblazer Award by the South Asian Bar Association of Washington, D.C. (SABA-DC) at its 10^th annual Public Interest Benefit Gala. The Private Sector Trailblazer Award recognizes individuals within the SABA-DC community who have demonstrated sustained excellence in private sector legal work or a specific extraordinary accomplishment. Private sector attorneys include those employed by for-profit law firms or those working in-house at for-profit corporations.

Anand works in all areas of patent law, from litigation in U.S. district courts and the U.S. International Trade Commission to strategic client counseling at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He handles complex technologies, including data storage and software solutions, telecom, medical devices, automotive systems, polymer films, industrial manufacturing, and consumer appliances and electronics. In addition, Anand has held several leadership and management roles at the firm. He served as Finnegan’s first chair of its diversity and inclusion committee, and as leader of the mechanical practice group. He was a member of the management committee and co-leads the firm’s India practice.
