The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) National Service Foundation recognized Finnegan as Gold Level Distinguished Donor for surpassing $3 million in lifetime donations. Finnegan remains the largest corporate contributor in the Foundation’s history.
DAV is a non-profit that develops financial resources for the assistance, aid, maintenance, care, support and rehabilitation of sick and injured veterans and their dependents.
“Thanks to your generosity, ill and injured veterans will have transportation to medical facilities to access healthcare. Veterans wounded in our country’s defense will be able to access the benefits they earned through their sacrifices. Family caregivers will receive urgently needed support. Often overlooked populations, like female and homeless veterans, will get the attention and aid they deserve,” Andrew Marshall, president of DAV said in a letter to the firm.
Finnegan has an extensive pro bono program serving the needs of veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces. The firm represents veterans before the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims (CAVC) and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and has represented veterans in more than 1,000 appeals from Board of Veterans Appeals (BVA) decisions. Each year Finnegan receives funds for its successful work at the CAVC under the federal government’s Equal Access to Justice Act (EAJA), and 100% of this money is donated to charities like DAV.
