With blockchain on the rise, companies are realizing the importance of obtaining patents for this new technology. Fortune reached to Finnegan partner John Mulcahy for his thoughts on this emerging area.
With just 350 blockchain patents worldwide, John said that there haven't been any patent lawsuits filed yet because companies are still assessing blockchain's commercial impact. He predicts that this will change as companies obtain more blockchain patents.
