On June 23, 2016, the people of the United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union (EU) – the so-called “Brexit.” Although the consequences of leaving the EU are not yet known, and formal negotiations toward an exit have not yet commenced, owners of intellectual property rights are understandably concerned about the impact of Brexit.

This thirty-minute webinar will explain the possible impact of Brexit and provide practical tips to guide IP rights owners in the short term. Topics will include:

  • When might Brexit happen?
  • Future of the Unitary Patent and Unified Patent Court
  • Impact on European patents, EU trade marks, and Community designs
  • Considerations for IP-related agreements covering the UK and the EU
