Webinar

Prosecution Strategies in View of the Severely Diminished Allowance Rate at the USPTO

September 9, 2009

Webinar

To view the recorded webinar, or download a copy of the slides, please click here. Program run time is approximately 60 minutes.

One of the causes for the reduced allowance rate is the aftermath of the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2007 decision in KSR v. Teleflex. That case altered the way in which the USPTO evaluates obviousness. Finnegan partner Anthony Tridico  will provide detailed examples of the types of arguments that may be successful in overcoming obviousness rejections in this new environment. And we will discuss application drafting techniques that may improve the chances of success in obtaining allowance.

This webinar is the first of our Strategic U.S. Patent Series for European Counsel, a series of four webinars covering the latest strategies for successful U.S. patent prosecution, designed specifically for the changing U.S. environment. Due to insufficient demand for French and German at this time, the first webinar will be held in English only. We will continue to evaluate demand for the following webinars.
