Issues Affecting Semiconductor and IC Patents and Opportunities from Recent Developments

April 28, 2015

Palo Alto, CA

The AIA (American Invents Act) and recent court decisions directly affect the semiconductor and integrated circuits (IC) industry, especially how patent cases are litigated, licenses are negotiated, and patents are prosecuted to enhance their value. Please join Finnegan attorneys with legal and technical experience in the field for an interactive discussion on:

  • Options for navigating new hurdles presented by Section 101
  • Recent court decisions on damages calculations and patent exhaustion and how they affect license negotiations
  • Developments at the ITC: what happens after the ITC issues the decision on violation
  • Strategic prosecution options that enhance value

The speakers will discuss the impact of recent legislative developments and case law and how they present opportunities for strategically managing IP, strengthening portfolios, and defending against assertions. They will also offer guidance on navigating through unsettled areas of law and strategies on how those in the semiconductor and IC industry can strategically address those challenges.
