Recently, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has gone on a binge, offering a new Inter Partes Review ("IPR") procedure to attack patents, and the procedure has proved deadly. In the last year almost 95% of patents that entered IPR did not come out the other end, leading the Chief Judge of the patent appeals court to declare the new IPR tribunal as "death squads, killing property rights." Finnegan has handled more than 10% of all IPRs, and in this seminar, Finnegan partner Jeff Berkowitz will teach you how to use IPR to your advantage and how to maximize the chances that your own patent survives an IPR attack.
