Filing As an Applicant-Assignee: What Is the Point?

With the passage of the America Invents Act, an assignee, an obligated assignee, or a person who otherwise shows sufficient proprietary interest in an application may file and prosecute a patent application. We address the impact of this definition change and discuss reasons why one would or would not file as the applicant-assignee here.
