With a foundation in biological sciences, public health policy, and direct intellectual property (IP) experience, Virginia Lefever applies a multidisciplinary perspective to her practice, specifically to matters related to technologies within the life sciences sector.
Virginia focuses on patent litigation and prosecution matters. She supports litigation teams by preparing case briefs, summarizing deposition transcripts, and conducting research on patentability, licensing, and commercialization of medical technologies.
While in law school, Virginia externed with the Honorable Judge Kathy Bissoon at the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. She also worked as a research assistant and concentrated on collaboration agreements between pharmaceutical companies and independent innovators. In her last semester, Virginia externed with a world-renowned hospital’s innovation center, conducting patentability analyses and drafting amendments to technology transfer agreements.
Prior to law school, Virginia worked in healthcare policy and program evaluation, contributing to federal recommendations that achieved measurable financial benefits.
