Nessa Khandaker, an intellectual property litigator in Finnegan's London office, focuses on all aspects of intellectual property including patents, trade marks, design rights, copyright and trade secrets. She advises clients across a variety of sectors including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, telecommunications, fashion, food and beauty. Nessa's experience as a judicial assistant with the most senior intellectual property judges in the English High Court informs her distinctive insight into UK intellectual property litigation.
Nessa has extensive trial and appellate experience with life sciences and high-tech patents as well as with copyright, trade marks and passing off cases in the UK. She has brought cases to the English High Court, the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court as well as matters before the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EU IPO) and the Intellectual Property Office of the United Kingdom (UK IPO).
Nessa's clerkship at the Chancery Division of the High Court of Justice of England and Wales included the opportunity to serve as a judicial assistant to Mr Justice Meade and Mr Justice Mellor of the Patents Court. She also provided assistance on a range of IP and commercial disputes to Mrs Justice Bacon, Mr Justice Jonathan Richards and His Honour Judge Hacon. Nessa draws on this experience at the High Court to advise clients on the most effective ways to handle litigation in the UK courts.
