Laura_Masurovsky

Laura Masurovsky is an experienced litigator with more than 25 years of practice in federal and state courts. She concentrates on patent infringement and trade secret cases and strategic counseling for portfolio growth. With a focus on the biomedical industry, Laura is an active member of Finnegan's Israel practice.

Prior to joining Finnegan, Laura represented clients in commercial and white-collar criminal cases. She served as a special assistant U.S. attorney in the District of Columbia and as a legal advisor at the U.S. Department of State.

Laura previously served as a member of the firm's management committee, as head of the litigation section, and as leader of the IP specialties practice group. She has been recognized by Managing IP as an IP Star, and by The Legal 500 U.S. and Intellectual Asset Management for her patent litigation and licensing work. The Federal Circuit Bar Association presented Laura with a Committee Leadership Award (CLA) and a Committee Individual Leadership Award (CILA) for her contributions to the Amicus Committee.

Successfully represented Lilly in post-grant review (PGR) proceeding relating to patent on IL-17A/F antibodies that had been asserted against Lilly’s blockbuster Taltz® pharmaceutical and in parallel district court litigation. Achieved institution of PGR, judgment in favor of petitioner, and dismissal of the district court case.

Won a jury verdict for Avid on issue of inventorship and patent ownership that was affirmed by the Federal Circuit, and obtained a finding of exceptional case, entitling Avid to an award of attorneys' fees. The verdict disposed of a series of suits against numerous companies involved in scientific research relating to Alzheimer's disease.
