Patent Attorney Trainee
Georges Khoury, a patent attorney trainee, applies his strong technical foundation in electrical and electronic engineering to support clients in a wide range of technologies. He has experience with managing large international patent portfolios, drafting and prosecuting patent applications, and assisting with post-grant proceedings.
Prior to joining Finnegan, Georges was a trainee patent attorney at a UK patent firm, where he prosecuted patent applications globally, assisted with European Patent Office (EPO) oppositions and appeals, and provided analysis on freedom-to-operate (FTO), infringement, and patentability. He drafted and prosecuted patent applications across a wide variety of technologies, including graphics processing, video encoding, machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, power electronics, and consumer hygiene products.
Georges’ master’s degree project focused on the optimal control of vehicles having in-wheel motors. Other projects he completed include the research and development of a robot localization and tracking system which utilizes convolutional neural networks.
