Dan provides strategic counseling and advocacy to clients in a variety of intellectual property disputes, including copyright, trademark, false advertising, unfair competition, domain name, and related claims. He also represents clients in complex, cross-border litigations and has experience litigating before numerous federal and state courts at both the trial and appellate level.
Prior to joining Finnegan, Dan worked at a global law firm, litigating on behalf of renowned Silicon Valley tech companies and entrepreneurs. His experience includes representing high-profile individuals implicated in employee mobility trade secret disputes and working with foreign mobile app and video game companies in enforcing their IP in the United States.
Dan maintains an active pro bono practice. He has represented a prisoner in a case before the Supreme Court of the United States; grassroots organizations and injured plaintiffs in a class action lawsuit against a police department; amici in drafting an amicus brief in an immigration proceeding before the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit; and an aspiring nurse in expunging decades-old crimes.
