Christian Sanders focuses on patent litigation and primarily works with electrical technologies. His technical background includes working with networked systems and wireless communication. For example, he has been part of cases involving encoding for wireless data transmission technology. Christian has ample experience in communication protocols, particularly for positioning systems, having developed and tested a method for detecting and locating GPS spoofing attackers. He has also been involved in cases related to electronic devices, such as semiconductor devices.
While attending law school, Christian worked as a patent law intern for Wake Forest Innovations, the technology transfer office for Wake Forest University. He gained experience in patent prosecution as well as intellectual property portfolio management.
For his master’s degree in electrical engineering, Christian conducted research on global positioning systems (GPS) security. By using a network of moving vehicles, he developed an algorithm that detected and located GPS spoofing attackers. He subsequently published a paper on that topic in IEEE: Transactions on Vehicular Technology, titled “Localizing Spoofing Attacks on Vehicular GPS Using Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communications.”
As an undergraduate, Christian participated in a co-op program with Altec, Inc. As a co-op intern, he completed three semesters at Altec, rotating through different departments and gaining practical experience in the engineering and manufacturing process.
