Caleb Estes focuses on patent litigation and prosecution involving mechanical and electrical technologies. His technical background spans the fields of aerospace, robotics, manufacturing, and software engineering.
While attending law school, Caleb completed an externship with Chief Judge L. Scott Coogler in the Northern District of Alabama, gaining firsthand experience in judicial decision-making and opinion drafting. He served as a research assistant to an intellectual property (IP) law professor, contributing to the drafting of law review articles focused on patents and copyrights.
Caleb’s experience as a mechanical engineer includes working on military aircraft systems such as MQ-25B, H-47 Chinook, VC-25B, and T-7A Redhawk; designing and prototyping electric drivetrain and suspension systems for autonomous lawnmowers; and leading the design and manufacturing of a moon buggy that went on to win NASA’s Human Exploration Rover Challenge. He also worked as a software engineer in areas involving cloud computing, object-oriented application development, and cross-platform data synchronization.
