Ali Badreddine, PhD., provides expert technical support in patent prosecution, leveraging his medical device industry experience and scientific research expertise. He has a doctorate in biomedical engineering, with a particular focus on biomedical optics, and has been an author to several patents.

At Finnegan, Ali has drafted patent applications across a broad spectrum of technology sectors within the electrical and mechanical groups, including multidisciplinary innovations. Notably, he has contributed to drafting a patent application for non-destructive, real-time optical methods for evaluating the mechanical quality of sporting equipment such as golf balls.

During his doctoral studies in the Biomedical Optics Lab at Boston University, Ali gained extensive research experience through academic coursework and industry involvement. He also developed a novel polarization-based imaging/detection method for live-tracking of peripheral nerve activity. He authored two publications on this work.

Prior to joining Finnegan, Ali worked as a core member of the research and development team at a medical device company. He was integral in producing and writing several patents and scientific publications. Ali is a named inventor on patents involving novel systems and methods for a medical laser to treat both soft and hard tissues. He guided two products from conception to market delivery, while ensuring that the inventions avoided any existing competitor patents.
