In today’s fast-moving world, changing strategies can make it desirable to amend your issued patents. Your own interests, or the interests of your competitors, often change. You may learn a competitor is copying your technology, or a competitor may accuse you of copying its technology or infringing its patents. You may become aware of new information not previously considered during the prosecution of your relevant patents. In this webinar, we will discuss the extent to which you can backtrack, change focus, or fix the scope of your granted patent rights. The webinar will consider questions including:

  • What tools are available to fix a U.S. or European patent?
  • What types of amendments can you make?
  • When can you make the changes, and how does the timing impact your rights?
  • What are the risks and strategies for effective use of these post-grant tools?

This webinar is the second segment of Finnegan’s 2018 series, “Bridging the Pond: Strategies for IP Prosecution and Enforcement in Europe and the United States.” We hope you are able to attend.
