A Piece of Federal Circuit History

April 30, 2018

Authored and Edited by Elizabeth D. Ferrill

Which law school has the most alumni who have served on the Federal Circuit - present and past?

It’s a tie!  Georgetown University Law Center and Columbia Law School are tied at four for the most graduates who went on to become Federal Circuit judges - present and past.  As for current members of the court, Georgetown University Law Center has the most alumni (3) currently on the court, including senior judges.  However, when excluding senior judges and when only focusing on active judges on the court, Georgetown University Law Center and New York University School of Law are tied at two for most alumni active on the court.  Below is a list of Federal Circuit judges and their law school alma maters.
