Washington, DC - Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the world, announced today the election of six lawyers to the partnership, effective January 1, 2012. The diverse backgrounds and technical knowledge of the new partners range from consumer products to medical devices, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals to electrical, computer, and mechanical-related technologies. Their practices cover all aspects of IP law, including counseling, prosecution, and litigation before federal district courts, the U.S. International Trade Commission, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
New Partners in Alphabetical Order:
Jeffrey W. Abraham (Washington, DC) practices patent litigation before the U.S. district courts and the U.S. International Trade Commission. His practice encompasses a wide array of technologies, including the chemical, pharmaceutical, mechanical, and electrical fields. Mr. Abraham received his B.A. (1999) from Cornell University; and J.D. (2002), with high honors, from University of Florida College of Law.
Danny M. Awdeh (Washington, DC) focuses on trademark, unfair competition, false advertising, and copyright litigation and counseling. His litigation practice encompasses all aspects of U.S. district court cases, appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Awdeh received his B.A. (2000), cum laude, from Rhodes College; and J.D. (2003) from Emory University School of Law.
Weiguo (Will) Chen (Palo Alto, CA) is experienced in patent litigation, client counseling, opinion writing, and the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in a range of technologies, including telecommunications, networking, electronic circuitry, semiconductor devices, MEMS devices, and software. Mr. Chen received his B.S. (1998) and LL.B. (1999) from Tsinghua University; LL.M (2001) from Franklin Pierce Law Center; and M.S. (2004) from Northeastern University.
Justin J. Hasford (Washington, DC) focuses his practice on complex patent litigation at the trial and appellate levels on behalf of pioneer pharmaceutical companies. He has particular experience with cases arising from Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDAs) under the Hatch-Waxman Act. Mr. Hasford received his B.S. (1998), magna cum laude, from Vanderbilt University; and J.D. (2003) from University of Virginia School of Law.
Jason E. Stach (Atlanta, GA) practices all aspects of patent law, with an emphasis on litigation in U.S. district courts and at the U.S. International Trade Commission. His areas of technical focus include electrical, computer, and software technologies, but he has also addressed chemical, pharmaceutical, and mechanical issues. Mr. Stach received his B.S. (2000), with distinction, from Purdue University; and J.D. (2003), with honors, from Emory University School of Law.
Jeffrey C. Totten (Washington, DC) practices patent litigation, counseling, and prosecution, with a focus on litigation before U.S. district courts and the U.S. International Trade Commission. Mr. Totten has assisted clients with matters relating to a wide variety of technologies in the mechanical and electrical fields. He received his B.S. (2000), with high distinction, from University of Virginia; and J.D. (2003), cum laude, from University of Michigan Law School.
