Finnegan established its European presence in 1993 with the opening of an office in Brussels, Belgium. In November 2013, the office relocated to London, England, one of the main centers of IP practice in Europe. As one of the largest law firms in the world focusing on IP, we are well-positioned to protect the diverse array of products and breakthrough discoveries across geographies and industries. The European patent and trade mark attorneys in our London office represent clients in matters both in Europe and the United States. In addition to the IP professionals we have resident in London, many attorneys in our U.S. offices focus primarily on assisting European companies with U.S. IP law issues. The professionals in our London office have active practices at the European Patent Office (EPO), the U.K. Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO), the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), UK Courts and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), and they possess a keen understanding of the diversity of laws and practice among the European national systems. This knowledge of the European legal system and how it differs from that in the United States allows us to effectively counsel our clients on a full range of IP issues and to find cohesive solutions tailored to the needs of companies with global intellectual property interests.
You can also find us in North America in Atlanta, Boston, Palo Alto, Reston, and Washington; in Europe in Munich; and our Asian offices are in Seoul, Shanghai, Taipei, and Tokyo.
