The International Trade Commission (ITC) ruled in favor of Finnegan client BMW and affirmed Administrative Law Judge Monica Bhattacharyya's August 12 decision that the automotive company didn't infringe on two patents asserted by Arigna Technology Ltd. on behalf of a licensee, the Arizona-based chipmaker Microchip Technology.
Partner Lionel Lavenue said that his team was very pleased with the ITC's ruling. "The Finnegan team is proud to have worked towards this correct and successful result for BMW.”
Judge Bhattacharyya's additional ruling invalidating several of the patent claims as anticipated or obvious, based on prior art, also won the commission's approval.
