Duties:
Work on patent prosecution, portfolio development, and strategic counseling matters involving mechanical technologies including the design, manufacturing and test of following technical areas: robotics, automotive, heat exchanger and furnace, fuel cell, food and beverage, sports and fitness equipment, household appliances, and medical devices. Draft and prosecute patent applications, respond to U.S. and foreign office action communications, performing competitive landscape evaluations, and providing patentability and freedom-to-operate opinions.
Requirements:
Employer will accept a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a Technical Specialist-related occupation.
Position requires thirty-six (36) months of experience in the following:
1) Patent counseling or portfolio development; 2) understanding the structure of parts based on 2D or 3D drawings; 3) identifying the design of robotics in control theory; 4) applying knowledge of the manufacturing process, such as forming, forging, cutting, and joining, in both traditional and nontraditional ways; and 5) applying mechanical technical skills to different areas (robotics, automotive, heat exchangers and furnaces, food and beverage, sports and fitness equipment, household appliances, and medical devices).
