Yanbin Xu, Ph.D., practices all aspects of patent law, with a focus on patent litigation before federal district courts and the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC). His patent litigation experience includes drafting discovery; formulating claim construction, infringement, and validity positions; attending depositions; and assisting technical experts with the preparation of expert reports.
In addition to his litigation practice, Yanbin has extensive experience drafting and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications in a broad range of technologies, including wireless communications, networks, computer systems, software, and business methods. He also provides client counseling on patent-related issues. Yanbin has been recognized by Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) for his practice in the D.C. region.
While completing his Ph.D. at Duke University, Yanbin worked as a research assistant in the department of electrical and computer engineering. He gained extensive research experience in modeling radio wave propagation and wireless communications, as well as signal processing. His Ph.D. work was targeted to serve the needs of the NASA science community.
Yanbin’s pro bono experience includes the representation of a veteran in successful appeal for disability claims before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.

Represented Realtek Semiconductor Corp. in a defensive patent suit relating to IEEE 802.11 (Wi-Fi) wireless technology. After a full trial, the investigation concluded with the ITC finding in Realtek's favor on non-infringement, invalidity, and complainant's failure to prove the existence of a domestic industry, and the Federal Circuit affirmed.
