iRobot Corporation
SharkNinja Operating LLC et al
Finnegan client SharkNinja prevailed in four inter partes reviews (IPRs) at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), successfully invalidating all claims that iRobot had asserted in a related district court litigation. In the District of Massachusetts, iRobot accused SharkNinja of infringing six patents directed to robot vacuum cleaner technology. The plaintiffs dismissed infringement claims on two of the six patents, and the court then stayed the case while the remaining patents were challenged at the PTAB. After iRobot disclaimed several claims, the PTAB found the rest of the challenged claims that had been asserted in the district court litigation to be unpatentable, resulting in a complete win for our client.
