Steven J. Wilhelm

Steven focuses on IP litigation and patent prosecution matters. He supports litigation teams by researching procedural and substantive issues, reviewing discovery materials and scientific data, and analyzing patent portfolios. He also contributes to thought leadership through research and writing on developments at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC) and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Steven is committed to his pro bono practice, which includes representing disabled veterans as a part of the firm’s Veteran’s Assistance Program.

While in law school, Steven gained in-house experience through a legal internship with a global pharmaceutical company. In this role, he drafted patent applications and office action responses to the USPTO, supported litigation by conducting research on patentability, and researched emerging issues in IP law.

Steven brings substantial scientific experience to his legal practice. Before entering the legal profession, he spent several years conducting biomedical research involving behavioral neuroscience, chronic pancreatitis, and infant digestive disorders.
