Shaopeng Zhang, Ph.D., brings a distinctive combination of academic and industrial experience to his patent prosecution practice. He leverages his advanced degrees in computer science, biomedical engineering, and mechanical engineering, complemented by his hands-on artificial intelligence (AI) development roles in relevant industries. Shaopeng assists clients with innovations in AI and machine learning (ML); bioinformatics and drug discovery; medical devices and diagnostics; digital health; quantum computing; financial technologies (FinTech), augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR), and aviation.

Shaopeng’s industry experience spans the application of AI across pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. He has developed ML solutions leveraging transformer architectures, large language models, diffusion models, variational autoencoders, graph neural networks, knowledge graphs, convolutional neural networks, and reinforcement learning pipelines.

Shaopeng's multidisciplinary academic experience provides a foundation that solidly positions him for handling patent prosecution related to emerging technologies. With a doctorate in biomedical engineering, his research in neuromodulation device development for pain management led to a pending U.S. patent application, on which he is a named inventor. His master’s degree concentrated on AI and ML and included active work with natural language processing (NLP) and computer vision (CV).
