Sabrina S. Alam

Prior to joining Finnegan, Sabrina worked as a patent engineer at an intellectual property law firm. She assisted with drafting patent applications and prosecuting patents in the chemical and oil and gas industries.

As a graduate research assistant, Sabrina led projects on developing polymeric coacervate materials for delivering encapsulated small molecules such as antimicrobials and herbicides in water. She participated in the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) regional Innovation Corps (I-Corps) customer discovery program, conducting market studies and collaborating with industry leaders to evaluate the commercialization potential of the product that she and her team developed in the lab. As an NSF intern, Sabrina worked at a leading multinational chemical company in the formulation technology division, where she developed demulsifier formulations for the ethanol industry. She then joined Hydrite Chemical Co. as a product development scientist, helping the company modernize its research and development program and developing surfactant-based products for customers in various industries, such as food and agriculture and oil and gas.

Sabrina takes interest in a wide range of humanitarian issues and is committed to pro bono work.
