Patent Agent
Rebecca Richardson focuses on patent prosecution and counseling across a diverse range of chemical fields. A former patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), she leverages her extensive experience when drafting responses to Office communications and investigating prior art landscapes for invalidity opinions and portfolio management. Rebecca provides expert technical support in all matters related to the prosecution of utility patent applications and the management of patent portfolios.
As a patent examiner, Rebecca evaluated the patentability of fiber and textile-based materials, including specialized yarns, functional apparel, ballistic composites, environmentally adaptive materials, and natural and synthetic polymers for fibers and filaments. She reviewed applications directed to organic electronic devices and the compounds therein, such as electroluminescent emitters and carrier transport mediums.
While pursuing her undergraduate chemical engineering degree at the University of Virginia, Rebecca gained a variety of technical experience in polymer chemistry and manufacturing through academic coursework, research, and industry internships.
