Associate
Leo Huang focuses on patent litigation and client counseling in the mechanical and electrical fields. His experience includes developing technical arguments in trial proceedings at the International Trade Commission (ITC), conducting discovery, and assisting with cases in U.S. district courts. Leo also works on drafting patent applications, responding to U.S. and foreign office action communications, and providing freedom-to-operate analysis as well as invalidity opinions.
Before attending law school, Leo was a technical specialist with Finnegan. He gained extensive experience in patent prosecution related to a wide range of technologies, such as integrated circuit (IC) design, self-driving vehicles, medical devices, robotics, and fintech. Leo also lectured on developments in U.S. patent law at the Taiwan Patent Attorneys Association and taught patent prosecution at Yuan Ze University.
While in law school, Leo was a student researcher at the UCLA Institute for Technology, Law & Policy, where he conducted research on legal issues regarding cutting-edge technologies. His work has been featured in several prestigious journals. As an undergraduate, Leo studied photonics, electronic circuits, and semiconductor technology. He also worked for Texas Instruments, where he collaborated with research and development engineers on power supplies projects.
