Naudin van den Heuvel, Ph.D., applies his broad scientific research expertise in organic chemistry to intellectual property matters in the chemical and pharmaceutical fields.

Prior to joining Finnegan, Naudin conducted doctoral research at Yale University, where he focused on the development of novel approaches to selective nitrene transfer and their application in the modification of complex natural products. As a master's student at The University of Amsterdam, Naudin investigated metal-catalyzed carbene transfer reactions for the synthesis of eight-membered rings. He also gained experience in the application of computational chemistry techniques to various problems across the life sciences.

Over the course of his academic career, Naudin has enjoyed teaching and tutoring students of all levels and has grown passionate about working at the interface of different disciplines.
