Lauren Whyte draws on experience in trademark prosecution, litigation, and counseling to apply a broad perspective to her intellectual property (IP) law practice. She handles matters before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and provides litigation support in federal courts.
Lauren’s experience includes drafting office action responses and opinion letters, researching trademark and civil procedure issues, and assisting in federal court litigation. During law school, Lauren served as a student attorney at the Glushko-Samuelson Intellectual Property Law Clinic. She represented and advised clients in trademark opposition matters, settlement negotiations, and federal district court litigations in addition to counseling clients in trademark clearances.
Prior to joining Finnegan, Lauren clerked for a litigation boutique, where she drafted pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements, and contributed to workers’ compensation proceedings. She also served as a research assistant on projects involving trademark, trade dress, and industrial design.
Lauren’s background in international and global studies complements her work in IP law, offering clients a cross-disciplinary perspective on brand protection and dispute resolution.
