Associate
Kaitlyn Robinson focuses on intellectual property (IP) matters, drawing on extensive experience in patent law, regulatory quality systems, and medical device development. She combines legal training with more than a decade of hands on engineering, product development, and portfolio management in the medical device industry.
While attending law school, Kaitlyn served as a summer associate at Finnegan, where she conducted legal research, prepared IP landscape analyses, developed competitor product claims matrices, and provided pro bono trademark and copyright counseling. She also contributed to client facing training materials addressing changes at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Kaitlyn gained significant corporate experience through externships, working both with an in house patent group and a general counsel’s office. Her work included drafting freedom to operate (FTO) memoranda; monitoring competitive patent filings; developing claims matrices for due diligence projects; reviewing and editing commercial agreements; and evaluating advertising and promotional materials for regulatory compliance.
Prior to her legal training, Kaitlyn held technical and leadership roles at global medical technology companies. She led continuous improvement initiatives for research and development (R&D) design control processes, supported strategic portfolio decision making, and managed associates in a rotational engineering development program. Kaitlyn also supported devices related to wound care, prostate health, and brachytherapy products, and served as lead quality engineer on a new product development team for a female external urinary catheter device. She previously worked as a manufacturing supervisor and technical development engineer, supporting transcatheter heart valve delivery systems and critical care monitoring systems across quality, R&D, manufacturing, and marketing functions.
