Hajra Nashin has extensive experience in trademark, copyright, and advertising law. She counsels clients in an array of industries in advertising, marketing, entertainment, and intellectual property issues.
Hajra's practice includes global maintenance, prosecution, and enforcement of trademark and certification mark portfolios for leading brands of consumer goods, telecommunication companies, global retailers, information technology service companies, and companies in the health and wellness space. She has considerable experience in trademark search and clearance matters and regularly manages critical launch and branding efforts. Hajra also conducts pre-publication advertising review and analyzes issues related to trademark, copyright, right of publicity laws, and regulatory advertising and promotion guidance. Hajra handles oppositions, cancellations, and reexamination proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) as well as litigations in district courts. She advises on copyright prosecution and infringement matters, and she designs and implements enforcement strategies to strengthen and protect clients' IP assets, including across social media platforms.
Prior to joining Finnegan, Hajra worked at a global law firm, representing private and public companies to strategically monetize and manage their technology and other IP assets. Her practice centered around counseling clients on a wide range of IP-related and commercial transactions, which included preparing, negotiating, and analyzing licensing agreements, trademark licenses, patent licenses, vendor agreements, services agreements, consulting agreements, and other strategic collaboration agreements. Hajra also assisted clients ranging from emerging companies to industry-leading corporations with large-scale financial transactions, such as mergers, acquisitions, financings, and public offerings.
Successfully represented Bausch & Lomb and Eye Therapies in a Hatch-Waxman patent infringement litigation and parallel PTAB challenges concerning an ANDA for generic versions of over-the-counter Lumify® ocular drops. The cases settled favorably for our clients.
