The Hispanic National Bar Association honored Finnegan attorney Clara Jiménez with its “Top Lawyers Under 40” award. The prestigious award recognizes accomplished lawyers with demonstrated professional excellence, integrity, leadership, commitment to the Hispanic community, and dedication to improving the legal profession.
Clara’s practice encompasses patent prosecution, client counseling, post-grant proceedings, and patent litigation across a broad range of technologies, including consumer, industrial, and pharmaceutical products; polymers, catalysts, metallurgical, and advanced materials; cosmetics, printing inks, oil and gas, batteries, and industrial manufacturing. She has experience in reexamination, interference, and inter partes review (IPR) proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). She represents patentees and accused infringers in litigation before U.S. district courts and advises clients in formulating cohesive strategies to assert and defend their rights in patent infringement and invalidation proceedings in Europe, South America, and Asia.
Clara also represents on a pro bono basis disabled military veterans before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veteran Claims in appeals related to denial of benefits, domestic abuse victims for the Family Law Project of the Women’s Bar Foundation, and immigrants seeking asylum through a partnership with Human Rights First. She volunteers at pro bono immigration clinics in Washington, D.C. and Boston, MA, and has been named to the Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll.
