Washington Area Lawyers for the Arts Honors Finnegan with Legacy Award

Washington, DC - Washington Area Lawyers for the Arts (WALA) has awarded Finnegan its annual Firm Legacy Award, which recognizes law firms for their long standing commitment and efforts above and beyond the call of duty in support of WALA.

WALA is a volunteer organization that matches artists in need of legal advice and representation with local attorney volunteers.  WALA expressed appreciation for the many Finnegan attorneys who have participated in developing and presenting educational programming for artists, attorneys, and members of the general public .  In 2001, Finnegan provided office space for the organization, and in January 2004 assumed full-time responsibility for the WALA program.  Finnegan has matched volunteer lawyers with more than 1,000 people from the arts community who need legal advice or representation on arts-related issues.

The award will be presented to Finnegan on July 14 at WALA's 25th Anniversary Celebration in Washington, DC.
