Webinar
This practical program will provide you with new and refined tools in view of the America Invents Act, which was enacted on September 16, 2011. These changes in the law provide strategic opportunities for patent owners, patent challengers, investors, and licensees. While we await specific regulations from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on how to implement certain aspects of the America Invents Act, this program will provide current guidance on how best to take advantage of the changes in the law.
The webinar will highlight select changes created by the legislation, how the changes may affect your everyday practice, and how to use the changes to achieve your business goals. Please join our panelists as they discuss:
• The new definition of prior art under 35 USC § 102 and its everyday relevance
• Filing strategies in view of the first-inventor-to-file changes, including use of Track I examination
• Using supplemental examination as a tool to fix your own mistakes
• Challenging competitor patents at the USPTO and responding to third party challenges
