Unlocking and Monetizing the Value of Patent Portfolios

February 22, 2011

Webinar

Companies who have heavily invested in building patent portfolios are increasingly interested in finding ways to generate revenue and other value as a return on their investment. Understanding the value of a patent portfolio, and the options and costs for extracting that value, is the first step toward generating revenue from the portfolio.

This program will discuss steps for identifying key patents and assessing the legal and commercial value of a patent portfolio; weighing the available options, including licensing, sale, pooling, and other cooperative ventures; and, preparing and executing a plan for generating revenue from the portfolio. This program will also review legal issues encountered when exploiting a patent portfolio, and recent decisions in the United States addressing those legal issues.
