Tyler M. Akagi

Associate

Tyler Akagi practices litigation, prosecution, and opinion work. Currently, Mr. Akagi devotes most of his time to litigating patents before the U.S. International Trade Commission and the U.S. district courts. Mr. Akagi’s litigation experience includes discovery and production of documents, working with technical and damages experts in their preparation of expert reports, and conducting depositions.

In addition to litigation matters, Mr. Akagi advises clients on their U.S. and international patent portfolios, and provides due diligence counsel in advance of intellectual property acquisition.

Mr. Akagi has experience in the fields of alternative energy production; medical devices; and food and chemical processing, transportation, and analysis systems.

A portion of Mr. Akagi’s time is devoted to pro bono matters. He has represented U.S. veterans before the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, and has argued evidentiary disputes in a criminal matter before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
